Second Stage Round 3: Trefl Sopot - Rosa Radom 73-84

There was a small surprise when Rosa Radom (15-10) defeated on the road Trefl Sopot (17-8) 84-73 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 49-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Trefl Sopot outrebounded Rosa Radom 42-28 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Trefl Sopot was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international Lukasz Majewski (198-82) who scored 16 points. The former international Robert Witka (205-81) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rosa Radom will face Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl Sopot will play on the road against Anwil in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
