Regular Season Round 4: Los Mochis - Nogales 86-80

Date: April 2, 2014
Bottom-ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-80 loss to sixth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (2-2) in Los Mochis. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Fuerza Guinda Nogales helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds and guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) supported him with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists. Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) did not help to save the game for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Pioneros Los Mochis moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play at home against Mineros de Caborca (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
