Regular Season Round 24: Union Hainaut - Villeneuve 66-75

Date: April 2, 2014
No shocking result in a game in Saint-Amand where fourth ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (19-5) defeated 10th ranked Union Hainaut (7-17) 75-66 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Laetitia Kamba (187-87) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Union Hainaut players scored in double figures. Villeneuve D'Ascq moved-up to second place, which they share with Lattes Montp. and Landes. Union Hainaut lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Mondeville and Tarbes. Villeneuve D'Ascq will meet league's second-placed Lattes Montpellier on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Union Hainaut will play against Tarbes (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
