Regular Season Round 16: Champville - Moutahed 68-64

The most shocking disappointment of round 16 was a road defeat of higher ranked Al Moutahed (11-5) to eighth ranked Champville (6-10) 68-64. It ended the three-game winning streak of Al Moutahed. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-64. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and Georgian point guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-86) who added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Champville players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Champville moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tadamon. Al Moutahed at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Champville is looking forward to face league's second-placed Sagesse in Beirut in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Al Moutahed will play on the road against the league's leader Al Riyadi having rather not much hope for a victory.
