Fourteenth-ranked Chorale de Roanne (6-20) gave a tough game to eleventh ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (13-13). Pau-Lacq-Orthez managed to secure only six-point victory 86-80. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chorale de Roanne won third quarter 29-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Chorale de Roanne used huge pressure winning it 18-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-9. 32 personal fouls committed by Chorale de Roanne helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!). Bulgarian Hristo Nikolov (200-85) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Claude Bergeaud allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized Ivorian guard Pape-Philippe Amagou (186-85, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 24 points and American forward JaMychal Green (203-90, college: Alabama) added 18 points in the effort for Chorale de Roanne. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Nanterre. Chorale de Roanne at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Olympique Antibes (#16) on the road where they are favorite. Chorale de Roanne will play against JSF Nanterre and hope to win that game.
