Twelfth-ranked Marin (8-15) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (13-10). The visitors from Avila managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 15-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Mike Duty (198-87, college: W.Washington) nailed 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Adrian Mendez (195-93) accounted for 11 points and 4 assists. Jamaican-American guard Garfield Blair (196-87, college: Stetson) came up with 20 points and power forward Joseba Aramburu (205-81) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Marin in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Guadalajara and Castello. Marin lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour's next round opponent will be Zornotza (#9) in Amorebieta-Echano. Marin will play on the road against CB Guadalajara and hope to win that game.
