Regular Season Round 25: Zornotza - Prat 74-76 OT

Ninth-ranked Zornotza (9-14) made lots of trouble for third ranked Prat (15-8) in Amorebieta-Echano on Saturday. The visitors from Prat managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 14-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-8. Prat forced 20 Zornotza turnovers. Swingman Alberto Abalde (200-95) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and center Victor Serrano (211-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and forward Ibon Carreto (198-84) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Prat have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Palma. Newly promoted Zornotza keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Azpeitia. Prat will meet at home league's leader Fuenlabrada in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zornotza will play against Fontedoso Carrefour (#7) in Avila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
