Ninth ranked Rotterdam won an overtime thriller against 7th ranked Leeuwarden by one point 96-95 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leeuwarden won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Leeuwarden used huge pressure winning it 24-18 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-11. Rotterdam made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard La'Shard Anderson (185-89, college: Boise St.) scored 28 points, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Robert Krabbendam (213-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Court Side) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Stephen Lumpkins (203-90, college: American, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Nathan Healy (201-90, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Five Rotterdam and four Leeuwarden players scored in double figures. Rotterdam (7-25) moved-up to eighth place. Loser Leeuwarden keeps the seventh position with 23 games lost. Rotterdam will meet higher ranked Den Helder (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Leeuwarden will play against M.Magixx (#6) in Nijmegen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
