Second Stage Round 8: Black Star - Grengewald 76-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Mersch between third ranked Black Star (15-11) and fourth ranked Grengewald (14-12) on Saturday night. Black Star was defeated by Grengewald in a tough game at home 76-81. Black Star was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 27-17 charge of Grengewald, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Guard Darious Clark (190-90, college: Slippery Rock) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Nick Harrington (201-85, college: S.Vermont) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Grengewald players scored in double figures. Forward Mike Oppland (201-84, college: Valparaiso) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Black Star. Newly promoted Grengewald maintains fourth position in League with 14-12 record. Black Star at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with 11 games lost.
