Regular Season Round 24: Panelefsiniakos - Trikalla 94-77
Date: April 5, 2014
Bottom-ranked Panelefsiniakos managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they won against ninth-ranked Aiolos Trikallon in Eleusina 94-77. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference proves that Panelefsiniakos was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Panelefsiniakos. Aiolos Trikallon was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panelefsiniakos forced 19 Aiolos Trikallon turnovers. It was a good game for American guard David Kyles (190-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Christos Deligiannis (204-84) added 13 points in the effort for Aiolos Trikallon. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panelefsiniakos (7-17) moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Aiolos Trikallon keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Kolossos and AGOR. Panelefsiniakos will play against higher ranked KAOD (#8) in Dramas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aiolos Trikallon will play on the road against Aris in Thessaloniki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
