There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Bambitious Nara (15-30) edged on the road 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (19-26) 78-76 on Saturday. Oita Heat Devils were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of Bambitious Nara, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. American guard Joe Chapman (193-84, college: Marquette, agency: I.D.S. Law) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds.
