Oberhausen upset Marburg away from home to draw first blood in the series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Pharmaserv Marburg won third quarter 13-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and center Marie Gulich (194-94) accounted for 9 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Margret Skuballa (186-87) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for BC Pharmaserv Marburg in the defeat.
