Regular Season Round 25: Nantes - Mondeville 57-50

Very expected game when 11th ranked Mondeville (7-18) lost on the road to sixth ranked Nantes Reze (13-12) 57-50 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-11. But Mondeville won second period 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Nantes Reze won last quarter 14-9. Quite impressive performance for Australian center Cayla Francis (192-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Sarah Michel (180-89) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Marine Johannes (174-95) added 12 points in the effort for Mondeville. Mondeville's coach Romain Lhermitte tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nantes Reze maintains sixth place with 13-12 record. Loser Mondeville keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Nantes Reze will face league's leader Bourges on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mondeville will play against Union Hainaut (#10) in Saint-Amand and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
