Regular Season Round 30: Angers BC - Rueil 77-64

Very expected game when 9th ranked Rueil (15-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Angers BC (21-9) 77-64 on Saturday. Rueil was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-13 charge of Angers BC, which allowed them to win the game. Angers BC outrebounded Rueil 48-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. Center Julien Bestron (205-86) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Thibaut Lonzieme (195-89) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Angers BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Frederic Bourdillon (193-91) with 13 points and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Angers BC moved-up to second place, which they share with Charleville. Loser Rueil keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Angers BC will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rueil will play at home against JA Vichy (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
