Herner held off Halle in the opener. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. American power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Tiffany Porter-Talbert (177-84, college: W.Kentucky) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and forward Laura Hebecker (181-93) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds.
