Important game to mention about took place in Shiga. Third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (26-20) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Shiga L-Stars (25-23) 92-89 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shiga L-Stars. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Shiga L-Stars turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. Forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Marshall Brown (199-85, college: Missouri) replied with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) added 24 points and 5 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix maintains third position with 26-20 record having twelve points less than leader Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fourth place with 23 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against league's leader Okinawa GK on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
