We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Maccabi Rishon (8-18) lost on the road to tenth ranked GreenTops Netanya (8-18) 86-79. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 26-18 last quarter charge of Maccabi Rishon cut the lead to 86-79 at the end of the game. GreenTops Netanya made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals during the contest. American point guard Davin White (186-81, college: CS Northridge) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and the former international Or Solomon (202-93) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. GreenTops Netanya will play against higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Bnei Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
