The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Kumamoto V.'s (6-42) road loss to fifth ranked Hyogo S. (7-39) 65-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hyogo S.. Kumamoto V. was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kumamoto V. 37-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hyogo S. players scored in double figures. American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Hiromasa Omiya (198-82) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Kumamoto V.'s coach Norman DeSilva let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Hyogo S. maintains fifth place with 7-39 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with 42 games lost. Hyogo S. will face higher ranked Tsukuba R. (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kumamoto V. will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and hope to win that game.
