Regular Season Round 26: CAI Zaragoza - FC Barcelona 85-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Zaragoza between third ranked Regal FC Barcelona (19-7) and sixth ranked CAI Zaragoza (16-10) on Sunday night. Regal FC Barcelona was defeated by CAI Zaragoza in a tough game on the road 79-85. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Regal FC Barcelona. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Regal FC Barcelona won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CAI Zaragoza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 38 personal fouls committed by Regal FC Barcelona helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Belgian point guard Jonathan Tabu (19-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Georgian forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Regal FC Barcelona. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to fifth place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014. Regal FC Barcelona at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost.
