Regular Season Round 28: Tarvas - TTU 81-71

Date: April 6, 2014
The game between Top Four teams took place in Rakvere. Third ranked host BC Rakvere (23-9) defeated one of their biggest challengers TTU (16-16) 81-71. It looked good early as TTU took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Rakvere had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and TTU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-81. Strangely TTU outrebounded BC Rakvere 49-27 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. TTU was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Lithuanian guard Giedrius Gustas (190-80, agency: Alti Sport) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Maris Laksa (207-81, college: Providence) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by power forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90) did not help to save the game for TTU. International center Rain Raadik (208-89) added 17 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. BC Rakvere have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 23-9 record having seven points less than leader TU/Rock. TTU lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost.
