Regular Season Round 52: Niigata Albirex - Okinawa GK 65-84

Leader Okinawa GK delivered the 38th victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Niigata Albirex (27-20) 84-65. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Niigata Albirex managed to win fourth quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK maintains first position with 38-8 record. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the fifth place with 20 games lost. Okinawa GK will meet at home Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Niigata Albirex will play against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
