Herzoege Wolfenbuettel outrebounded Hertener Loewen 44-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American guard Demetrius Ward (190-90, college: W.Michigan) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and center Marcel Schwarz (203-90) supported him with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Ward is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 24 points and 6 assists by naturalized Polish point guard David Michalczyk (180-89) did not help to save the game for Hertener Loewen. Max Schulze-Pals (202-90) added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Five Herzoege Wolfenbuettel and four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures.
