Leader Groningen delivered the twentieth ninth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Amsterdam (7-27) 71-43. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Amsterdam was better in fourth quarter 11-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Groningen dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Amsterdam's 22. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Amsterdam's players. It was a good game for American swingman Quentin Pryor (193-83, college: Morehead St., agency: IBS) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan (211-90) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. Center Lucas Steijn (211-86, college: Idaho St.) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and center Berend Weijs (208-88, college: Maryland) added 11 points in the effort for Amsterdam. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Groningen (29-4) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Amsterdam lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 27 games lost. Groningen will play against Leiden (#5) at home in the next round. Amsterdam will have a break next round.
