Quarter-Finals Round 3: Rist Wedel - Leipzig 94-75

Rist Wedel coasted past Leipzig in the decisive third game of the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rist Wedel. USC Leipzig managed to win fourth quarter 30-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SC Rist Wedel made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by USC Leipzig helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Diante Watkins (175-90, college: Robert Morris) who scored 24 points and 6 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (193-83) chipped in 21 points. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel's coach Sebastian Gleim used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Honduran guard Christopher Flores (188-90, college: NJIT) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American forward Eric Vierneisel (201-85, college: California) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively.
