An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Starogard. Second ranked Asseco faced 4th placed Polpharma. Guests from Gdynia (14-13) defeated host Polpharma (7-20) 81-70. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-70. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import point guard Courtney Eldridge (176-80, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Asseco maintains second place in Places 7-12 with 14-13 record behind leader Slask Wroclaw, which they share with AZS Koszalin. Loser Polpharma keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Asseco will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Polpharma will play again against the league's second-placed Asseco (#2) in Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
