Regular Season Round 29: Bari - Ravenna 64-98
Date: April 10, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Bari (1-28) was outplayed at home by eighth ranked Ravenna (16-13) 98-64 on Thursday. Ravenna dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Bari's 42. Ravenna forced 20 Bari turnovers and outrebounded them 41-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up and scored 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St.) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ravenna players scored in double figures. Power forward Francesco Infante (200-92) responded with 19 points and Francesco Didonna (190-94) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ravenna have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Matera. Bari lost twentieth third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 28 lost games. Ravenna will meet at home Recanati (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bari will play against Lucca and hope to win that game.
