Sixteenth-ranked Olympique Antibes (5-22) made lots of trouble for eleventh ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (14-13) on Friday. The visitors from Pau managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Nanterre. Olympique Antibes lost their fifth game in a row. Olympique Antibes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 22 lost games. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face higher ranked Le Mans (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olympique Antibes will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#5) and hope to win that game.
