Regular Season Round 53: Osaka Evessa - Takamatsu FA 74-76

The most exciting game of round 53 in the BJ League took place in Osaka. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Osaka Evessa (21-27) to eighth ranked Takamatsu FA (20-28) 76-74 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 22-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Takamatsu FA moved-up to seventh place. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the sixth position with 27 games lost. Takamatsu FA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osaka Evessa will play again at home against Takamatsu FA (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
