Regular Season Round 53: Okinawa GK - Hamamatsu P. 87-77

An interesting game for Okinawa GK (39-8) which hosted in Okinawa 3rd placed Hamamatsu Phoenix (26-21). First ranked Okinawa GK managed to get a 10-point victory 87-77. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Hamamatsu Phoenix was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) stepped up and scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Naoto Kosuge (187-82) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 39-8 record. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side keeps the third position with 21 games lost. Okinawa GK will again play against Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in Mikawa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round.
