Rist Wedel held off Oldenburg for the opening victory in the best-of-three series. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rist Wedel. Oldenburg managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Christoph Roquette (203-82) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. American center Jordan Reves (208-91, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) added 20 points respectively for lost side.
