There was no surprise when 12th ranked Recanati (12-16) was defeated at home by second ranked Treviglio (18-11) 73-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 25-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Tommaso Marino (192-86) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Treviglio players scored in double figures. Treviglio's coach Adriano Vertemati allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland) responded with 24 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and naturalized American power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Virginia) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Treviglio have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-11 record having three points less than leader Agrigento. Loser Recanati keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Reggio Calabr.. Treviglio will meet at home Barese (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
