BJ League top team - Toyama Grouses (38-10) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Sendai 89ers (23-24) 106-82. The game without a history. Toyama Grouses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: Norton Sports Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) accounted for 19 points and 14 rebounds. Forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and Travele Travel (203-88, college: Texas Southern) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Sendai 89ers in the defeat. Five Toyama Grouses and four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyama Grouses have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 38-10 record. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the seventh position with 24 games lost. Toyama Grouses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sendai 89ers will play again against the league's leader Toyama Grouses (#1) and hope to secure a win.
