Gmunden cruised past Wels in the first game of the series. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Raiffeisen Wels managed to win second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Raiffeisen Wels 41-22 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds.
