There was no surprise in Slupsk where 6th ranked Energa Czarni (12-16) was defeated by third ranked Trefl Sopot (20-8) 92-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-80. Trefl Sopot made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Trefl Sopot outrebounded Energa Czarni 39-21 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Energa Czarni was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Milan Majstorovic (207-83, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Garrett Stutz (212-90, college: Wichita St.) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Derrick Zimmerman (187-81, college: Mississippi St.) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trefl Sopot have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Places 1-6 with 20-8 record behind leader PGE Turow. Energa Czarni lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Trefl Sopot will face league's leader PGE Turow in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Rosa Radom (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
