Liga Endesa top team - Real Madrid (27-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Asefa Estudiantes (9-18) 71-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asefa Estudiantes. It looked good early as Asefa Estudiantes took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Real Madrid had a 19-16 second period charge getting the lead and Asefa Estudiantes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-71. They outrebounded Asefa Estudiantes 67-54 including 25 on the offensive glass. Real Madrid players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Asefa Estudiantes was plagued by 40 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for international Rudy Fernandez (198-85) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
