No shocking result in a game when second ranked Upea CdO (20-9) beat on the road 12th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (12-17) 87-78 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fileni BPA Jesi won third quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Marco Portannese (192-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Croatian center Sandro Nicevic (210-76, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Upea CdO players scored in double figures. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (197-82) added 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Fileni BPA Jesi. Upea CdO maintains second place with 20-9 record having just -1 point less than leader Trento. Fileni BPA Jesi at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Upea CdO will face bottom-ranked Aget Service IM (#16) in Imola in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fileni BPA Jesi will play on the road against Napoli Basket (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
