The game in Chiba was also quite interesting. Second ranked Toyota Alvark (42-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Chiba Jets (17-34). Toyota Alvark did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 81-62 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 54-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Keijuro Matsui (188-85, college: Columbia) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Toyota Alvark have an impressive series of twenty five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 42-8 record behind leader Aishin SH. Newly promoted Chiba Jets keep the sixth position with 34 games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chiba Jets will play against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders (#1) and hope to secure a win.
