Date: April 13, 2014
Important game to mention about took place in Fukuoka. Fifth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (25-23) saved a 3-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Shinshu BW (31-16) 92-89 in the fight for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-20. But Shinshu BW won third quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fukuoka Rizing won last quarter 25-24. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and guard Masahiro Kano (185-84) supported him with 18 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. His fellow American import forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) added 17 points. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
