Leader Rayos de Hermosillo delivered the eleventh win on Tuesday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (5-7) 78-65. The game was mostly controlled by Rayos de Hermosillo. Caballeros de Culiacan managed to win fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rayos de Hermosillo dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Caballeros de Culiacan's 26. The best player for the winners was American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Luis Pulido (188-85, college: Cal Poly Pomona) produced 16 points and 5 assists and American Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-1 record. Newly promoted Caballeros de Culiacan dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo are again looking forward to face Caballeros de Culiacan (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round.
