Quarter-Finals Round 2: Mykolaiv - Budivelnyk 68-90

Date: April 15, 2014
Budivelnyk topped Mykolaiv and ensured the ticket into the next round. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Budivelnyk outrebounded Mykolaiv 44-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Mykolaiv's players. Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) notched 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (216-84) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (203-90) did not help to save the game for Mykolaiv. Forward Oleksandr Tsikaliuk (204-93) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
