Regular Season Round 12: Hermosillo - Culiacan 77-72

CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (11-1) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (5-7) 77-72. Caballeros de Culiacan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard Joel Smith (193-90, college: Northeastern) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. American Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Brandon Heredia (180-85, college: Lon Morris JC) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Caballeros de Culiacan. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Newly promoted Caballeros de Culiacan dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caballeros de Culiacan will play at home against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
