The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Polpharma's (8-21) home victory over 5th ranked Stabill Jezioro (6-23) 87-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Polpharma. Stabill Jezioro managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) helped adding 16 points. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Chaisson Allen (192-89, college: Northeastern) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (203-90, college: Oklahoma) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Polpharma maintains fourth place in Places 7-12 with 8-21 record. Stabill Jezioro lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 23 games lost. Polpharma will meet league's second-placed Slask Wroclaw on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stabill Jezioro will play against AZS Koszalin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
