Regular Season Round 12: Nogales - Tijuana 95-100

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (7-3) beat on the road bottom-ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (2-10) 100-95. It looked good early as Fuerza Guinda Nogales took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tijuana Zonkeys took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who added 25 points during the contest. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Reeves Nelson (203-91, college: UCLA) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four Tijuana Zonkeys and five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tijuana Zonkeys moved-up to second place, which they share with Guasave. Fuerza Guinda Nogales lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and hope to get back on the winning track.
