Sixth ranked M.Magixx won an overtime thriller against 5th ranked Leiden by one point 85-84 on Thursday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leiden won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Leiden used huge pressure winning it 18-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-10. Leiden was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international Worthy de Jong (194-88) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and American center Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. M.Magixx maintains sixth place with 20-16 record. Defending champion Leiden dropped to the fourth position with 14 games lost.
