Wels upset Gmunden on the road and tied the quarterfinal series. Gmunden Swans were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Raiffeisen Wels dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gmunden Swans' 26. The best player for the winners was American point guard Zamal Nixon (186-89, college: Houston) who scored 18 points and 4 assists.
