An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Hyogo. Second ranked Wakayama T. faced 4th ranked Hyogo S.. Guests from Wakayama (38-13) smashed host Hyogo S. (9-41) 101-66. The game without a history. Wakayama T. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hyogo S.'s 42. They outrebounded Hyogo S. 55-27 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wakayama T. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 21 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Wakayama T. players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wakayama T. have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wakayama T. maintains second position with 38-13 record having eight points less than leader Aishin SH. Hyogo S. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 41 games lost. Wakayama T. will meet at home league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hyogo S. will play against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
