Rather expected game when 10th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (13-36) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Yokohama BC (23-26) 82-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Yokohama BC. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yokohama BC dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 36. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 50-33 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yokohama BC made 7 blocks. American swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield, agency: Norton Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Yuji Yuji (181-88) added 17 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yokohama BC have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 23-26 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 36 games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next round.
