We should mention about the upset which took place in Madrid, where 10th ranked Gipuzkoa (12-16) lost to thirteenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (11-17) in a road game 67-81 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Andy Panko (204-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players scored in double figures. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's coach Luis Casimiro used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center David Doblas (206-81) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jason Robinson (195-80, college: Pikeville) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bilbao Basket and Rio Natura Mnb. Loser Gipuzkoa keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will meet higher ranked Regal FC Barcelona (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gipuzkoa will play against CAI Zaragoza (#6) and hope to secure a win.
