Semi-Finals Game 1: Crailsheim - NBC 70-78

NBC defeated Crailsheim on the road and took a 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. Crailsheim Merlins trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 28-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 70-78 at the end of the game. NBC forced 20 Crailsheim Merlins turnovers. American guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) stepped up and scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and swingman Juan Reile (186-87) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four NBC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cuban swingman Yorman Polas (192-85) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Stevie Johnson (198-78, college: Iowa St.) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Crailsheim Merlins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
