Regular Season Round 32: Montbrison - Lourdes 80-91

There was no surprise when 17th ranked Montbrison (7-25) lost at home to eleventh ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (15-16) 91-80 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-80. Lourdes-Tarbes shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by Lithuanian-American guard Andrius Ragauskas (189-79, college: CS Los Angeles) who scored that evening 29 points and American-Dutch center Brian Freeman (208-86, college: Long Beach St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) supported him with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds by Georgian center Georges Mdivani (204-85, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Montbrison. Forward Regis Aubry (199-82) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Four Lourdes-Tarbes and five Montbrison players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Montbrison at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventeenth position with 25 games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will meet at home UB Chartres (#13) in the next round. Montbrison will play against Pontoise (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
